A little (or too much probably) about me. I'm Peggy Lucas and this is my 4th year as librarian at Mark Twain. I feel so blessed & thankful to be here having a job that I love! I've been married for 39 years to Jay Lucas. We have 4 daughters, 4 son-in-laws, and 11 grandchildren (see picture above). Our oldest daughter, Tysha Roughton is the technology integrator for Carthage R-9 & her husband, Jody, is a fireman here in town (4 of the kiddos belong to them). Tarah Sherwood is our 2nd daughter & she is an Analyst in Corporate Development at Leggett & Platt & her husband Josiah is a fireman in Joplin. (4 kiddos belong to them). Taylor Macy is our 3rd daughter & owner of Halo Salon here in town. Her husband, Jordan, is teaches Criminal Justice at the North Tech Center. (3 kiddos). Our youngest is Tessa Hoefling & she just started teaching 5th grade this year at the CIC. Her husband, Tyler, is a youth minister at Hope City Church in Joplin (no kids yet). I received my Bachelor's Degree from MSSU and then my Master's Degree from PSU. I taught 1st grade for 7 years in Webb City, then taught Kindergarten, 6th grade and 3rd here in Carthage. As librarian my hope is to foster a love of reading and to provide activities & resources that will support the students & staff in becoming lifelong learners of information. We are fortunate to have a Smart Board/projector and 12 laptops. This technolody provides free access to resources and information to help support the school's curriculum. If you should need to contact me my email address is [email protected] and my phone extension at MT is 14061. I am at MT every morning from 7:30-1:00. Looking forward to a great year!!
